The Establishment of San Fernando Town
“On January 19, 1858, a royal decree was issued separating San Fernando from Naga, after 31 years of being part of the parish. It was first named San Isidro in honor of its patron saint. The assigned first parish priest was Fr. Fernando Sanchez. Years after, it was renamed San Fernando in honor of this priest who was also named after the saint.”
